About North Cascades Hiking Tour
The centerpiece of the North Cascades National Park is the famed Lake Diablo and no visit would be complete without this at the core of the itinerary. We’ll enjoy an easy to moderate 4.5 mile hike to Thunder’s Knob for stunning views of Lake Diablo. From our viewpoint above the lake, we’ll enjoy lunch. From there we’ll continue to see the highlights of the famed Hwy 20 with a stop at the El Diablo Lookout and a hike down to Ross Lake Dam. This bonus hike allows us the unique opportunity to stand on the dam itself and look down at the gorge below that leads to Lake Diablo.

About the Hike
Our adventure will take us on a meander through the forest before beginning a gentle climb to Thunder’s Knob. This 4.5 mile hike is rated easy to moderate and offers panoramic views of the famous Lake Diablo. We’ll enjoy lunch on a rock outcropping that has 360 degree views of the North Cascades. The towering granite peaks will take your breath away while the aquamarine color of Lake Diablo will have you questioning if its even real.
But we won’t want to rest too long, because there is more to see! We’ll journey a little further up the Mountain Highway to a bonus trail to Ross Lake Dam where we can actually walk on the dam itself for a unique, one-of-a-kind perspective of Ross Lake and Lake Diablo.

North Cascades National Park is popular during the summer season. Guide may choose an alternative hike if needed due to trailhead accessibility.
